Potholes in Mogale City a sensitive matter

March 28, 2014 deur Esmarie Prinsloo

AfriForum received numerous complaints from the Krugersdorp community in the past couple of weeks regarding dangerous potholes in the Mogale City municipal area. These complaints were followed up with talks between AfriForum and well-known tyre businesses in Krugersdorp, which confirmed that the repairs and/or replacement of tyres have increased drastically.

Marcus Pawson, Community Organiser for AfriForum in Southern Gauteng said AfriForum is inundated with enquiries and complaints from Krugersdorp residents regarding various service delivery issues.

“A letter was sent to the Head of the Infrastructure Department at the Municipality and the Municipal Manager, Mr Dan Mashitisho. We will make sure Mr Mashitisho receives the information and photographs of the potholes in order for him to take to heart the severity and extent of the problem.”

AfriForum will establish a branch in Krugersdorp to assist the community with local government affairs, community safety and environmental affairs. The branch launch will take place on 2 April 2014 at 18:30 at Hoërskool Monument.
