They must be joking? This is the first question that comes to mind when you read about Newcastle Municipality’s proposed tax increase: The average increase in property tax is 28% and up to 64% on business or commercial properties!
This increase in property tax is preposterous, to say the least – it is even higher than what you would be paying in a metro. The increase, that comes into effect in July and will be in force for the next five years, must not be implemented!
Help stop property tax from being increased unlawfully. This is your chance to object. Enough is enough! All objections to the valuation roll must be submitted by 12 April 2019. Share this page with your family and friends. Spread the word, because everyone now has the chance to say their say.
How can you help stop the increase? Easy:
- Submit your objection by completing the form below. Your petition will be recorded.
- Join AfriForum’s Newcastle branch by sending an SMS with “Newcastle” to 45267 (R1), or by visiting https://www.afriforum.co.za/join/.
You can also object to the valuation roll directly on the municipality’s website at https://eservicesapp.evaluations.co.za/newcastle/Index.aspx.
