Month of Self-reliance
AfriForum’s Month of Self-reliance campaign
The decline of the South African government is increasing to such an extent that communities are left with no other choice than to create the ability themselves to build a better future. Communities across the country are busy rolling up sleeves and taking responsibility for their neighbourhoods themselves.
Problems are not solved by talking about it, but by doing something real about it. That is why AfriForum is launching its Month of Self-reliance campaign in October 2016 that will focus specifically on road safety and during which approximately 100 AfriForum community structures will fix up roads in their respective towns.
During the campaign, community members will themselves erect stop signs, paint speed humps, road signs and sidewalks as well as affix road reflectors. In towns where municipalities are aware of the problems but fail to work on a solution, AfriForum will take the necessary steps to recover the costs from them.
It is not sustainable to only stand in the way of further decline; we must also help build a road to prosperity.
Build a sustainable future for all communities in South Africa in cooperation with AfriForum branches.
#Do-it-yourself is better than doing nothing!
