Trail running and mountain biking to create hope. #ForHope
AfriForum’s Trauma Support Unit kicks off 2020’s #ForHope campaign with a fun day between Oudtshoorn, George and Knysna.
14 March 2020

The purpose of the trail running and mountain biking fun day is to cover 200 km to benefit the Victim Support Fund. The fund is used to support victims of violent crime and farm attacks in the following ways:
- Support at the crime scene
- Cleaning up the crime scene
- Defusing possible traumatic experiences
- Help with affidavits
- Preparation for and help during court proceedings
Come and take part with our ambassador Bennie Roux and his team, who will be running and pedalling to raise funds for the victims.
The find-raising comprises sponsorships, or donations per kilometre – people who want to get involved can therefore donate R1 or even R10 per kilometre.

#RunForHope in support of AfriForum’s Trauma Support Unit
AfriForum’s Trauma Support Unit launched the #RunForHope project in 2019 to generate funds and create awareness for the victim support fund.
After a team of runners and supporters took to the roads of the Free State, we know that the project is successful. Thanks to donations and wonderful sponsors, more than R85 000 was collected, as well as R60 000 sponsorships that made #RunForHope 2019 possible. By creating awareness on social media, we reached more than 100 000 people!
This was just the beginning, however, because #RunForHope will now happen every year. Watch this space!
Thank you to everyone who was involved in #RunForHope!
Stand together with victims of violent crime and farm attacks. Keep an eye out for #RunForHope projects in 2020 and support AfriForum’s Trauma Support Unit.
