AfriForum’s Machadodorp branch and SAPS join forces against crime

On 7 February 2017 Machadodorp’s AfriForum branch handed over a copy of the cooperative agreement that was reached between AfriForum and the South African Police Service (SAPS) in Centurion on 16 January 2017, to Capt. Ngobe, the Commanding Officer of the Machadodorp police station. The parties also held a strategic meeting where various of the town’s problems were identified.

“The goal of the agreement is to follow an integrated approach to improve safety and to promote community cooperation in the fight against crime,” says Gerald Smith, Chairperson of AfriForum’s Machadodorp branch.

Henrico Duvenhage, Chairperson of the neighbourhood watch, says that the local branch is very excited about the agreement with the police and that they already receive good cooperation and support from the SAPS.
