AfriForum’s Benoni neighbourhood watch holds follow-up mass patrol

AfriForum’s neighbourhood watch in Benoni held a follow-up mass visibility patrol on 11 October 2019 in their respective zones. This follows the successful national mass patrol that was held the previous week.

Fifteen patrollers (excluding security firms and safety institutions) travelled 460 km within 58 manhours. No serious incidents were reported.

“The Benoni branch and neighbourhood watch have grown considerably, and with the festive season around the corner, visibility patrols are becoming more crucial. AfriForum will continuously launch projects and organise patrols to curb crime and increase safety in cooperation with the SAPS and other security institutions,” says Ettiene de Klerk, Chairperson of AfriForum’s neighbourhood watch in Benoni.
