AfriForum establishes neighbourhood watch in Burnside, Nelspruit

AfriForum established a neighbourhood watch in the Burnside region of Nelspruit on 4 February 2017.

The neighbourhood watch was established to offer a joint front against increasing incidents of crime in the area.

The neighbourhood watch management is: Devon McCullen (Chairperson), Toit Du Toit (Operational Chairperson) and Enuanza Farrel (Secretary). The management forms part of the larger AfriForum branch management in Nelspruit, under leadership of Christo Peyper, Chairperson of this branch.

“I believe that the establishment of an AfriForum neighbourhood watch is a turning point in the fight against crime in Nelspruit. AfriForum’s neighbourhood watches have a reputation for discipline and cooperation with the police. The safety of the Burnside community is in safe hands,” says Johann Weber, AfriForum’s Regional Coordinator for Mpumalanga East.

The community can join the AfriForum neighbourhood watch in Burnside by sending an SMS with “Burnside” to 45350 (R1).
