The neighbourhood watches of AfriForum in George last night saved five homes in the town from being flooded. These neighbourhood watches were driving patrols in George South and Loerie Park respectively when they saw that help was needed.
The AfriForum branch in Vryburg caught another burglar in the act on Saturday morning around 4:00, and arrested the suspect at the scene.
Gauteng’s crime statistics has been leaked to AfriForum months ago. “These stats has to force us back to reality,” Ian Cameron, Head of Community Safety at AfriForum, said.
Residents of Vryburg were given the opportunity this past weekend to sharpen their readiness thanks to an initiative from AfriForum’s local neighbourhood watch in the town to present intensive safety training.
Following seven house burglaries in one week in Stella, residents requested the founding of a neighbourhood watch.
