AfriForum’s Vereeniging branch puts shoulder to the wheel with renovations

The AfriForum branch in Vereeniging on 2 February 2019 launched a renovation action in Langrand Road in the city in cooperation with DRC Labour Hire and Bambanani Garden Services. This action is only the first of many projects that the branch is planning on tackling in 2019.

The above-mentioned action consisted of two parts – Bambanani Garden Services took care of the pavements along Langrand Road by cutting the grass and properly cleaning it up, while DRC Labour Hire filled up potholes in the street.

“Local community members also bought into the pothole project. AfriForum’s Vereeniging branch supplied the tar and DRC Labour Hire provided the labour and equipment. We would like to thank all role-players that contributed to the success of this action. There lies power within a community that takes hands and cooperate and such a community can only go from strength to strength,” says Dewet Ungerer, AfriForum’s Assistant Coordinator for West Rand.

“This was the first of many actions that we as members of the branch are planning on tackling in 2019. We are making a plea to the community to give us a hand and work with us to build a better future for the community of Vereeniging,” says Henk Goosen, Chairperson of AfriForum’s Vereeniging branch.
