AfriForum’s Cape Town North branch cleans municipal pumping station

The civil rights organisation AfriForum’s Cape Town North branch cleaned the municipal pumping station in Oakdale, Bellville the past weekend in conjunction with the Voortrekker Road Corridor Improvement District.

This pumping station was in a critical state after homeless people and drug addicts used it as a hideout. AfriForum’s Belville neighbourhood watch added the road in front of the pumping station to their patrol route and will in future keep an eye on the pumping station to prevent it from deteriorating again.

“It is pleasing to see that people continuously take responsibility for their environment,” says Tommy van Zyl, Chairperson of AfriForum’s Cape Town North branch.
