AfriForum pothole project: potholes of R30 000 repaired in Alberton

June 9, 2016 deur Leomar van Schalkwyk

AfriForum yesterday started repairing 143 m2 of potholes in the streets of Alberton at a cost of R30 000.

This is one of the projects that AfriForum launched as part of the organisation’s #do-it-yourself initiative, and forms part of the organisation’s national pothole month that kicked off on 9 May 2016. This month will see R2 million being spent country-wide to repair potholes. The costs will subsequently be recovered from the relevant municipalities.

“We should be less dependent on Government and rather become self-sufficient,” says Wico Swanepoel, AfriForum’s Provincial Coordinator for Gauteng South.
