AfriForum kicks off its #AnchorTownRoadshow in Centurion
AfriForum on 25 February 2019 kicked off its #AnchorTownRoadshow in Botha Avenue, Centurion during which the organisation’s personnel and community members cleaned up the street by picking up rubbish. Approximately 150 bags of rubbish were cleared away at the conclusion of the action.
Various smaller actions also took place in Centurion during the day, like the AfriForum anti-bullying campaign and an activist action at the Department of Rural Development and Land Reform.
The anti-bullying discussion with Laerskool Pierneef and Laerskool Tuine was especially necessary after it was reported last week that a 13-year-old girl from Pretoria North took her own life after she was allegedly bullied on WhatsApp. The purpose of this discussion was to make learners aware of what bullying really is and what must be done to curb bullying in schools. AfriForum wants to create hope so that our country’s children can go to school freely, safely and prosperously.
“AfriForum’s trademark within Pretoria confirms the anchor strategy of the Solidarity Movement for 2019 – #CreateHope. This is the first of several actions throughout the course of the week with which AfriForum is planning on painting the city orange.
